🌀 RTS: RTS is the analogue soundscape project of Harry Lilley and Fraser Williams, otherwise known for playing in Te Papaioea-based noise rock band First Move. De-quantizing the minimal angularism of their other project, RTS sees the duo orient themselves within opaque sonic spaces that exist near the intersection of acoustic resonance, electromagnetism and amplification. Building on shows and recording experiments over the last year, this tour will coincide with the release of their first full-length offering. 🌀 skymning: Pillar of the Aotearoa experimental electronic music community and one of the masterminds behind the DIY establishment that is Bankrupt Records, skymning has been making sounds up and down the country for 15 years. A rare sight on the live circuit these days, he comes out of retirement to join his mates on some ambient adventures. 🌀 Luc Vitk / Lucie Vítková is a composer, improviser, and performer (accordion, hichiriki, drums, synthesizer, harmonica, voice, and dance) from the Czech Republic and New York. They received their PhD from the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno (CZ) and conducted research at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (NL), the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia (USA), the Universität der Künste in Berlin (D), Columbia University in New York (USA), and New York University. They are currently a Lecturer at the School of Music, Waipapa Taumata Rau, Aotearoa / University of Auckland, New Zealand. 🌀 Andrea Young is a performer-composer specializing in instrumental and electroacoustic music, exploring the expressive possibilities of a sound-controlling voice through feature extraction and data-driven live electronics. She is currently a Lecturer at the School of Music, University of Auckland, New Zealand. Friday 8 May, 8PM @ Audio Foundation UTR $15 / Door sales $20 / Unwaged $10 Members Free

🍂 Autumn 2026 Artist in Residence: Motoko Kikkawa Motoko Kikkawa was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1968 and after obtaining a degree in Philosophy at Nihon University, moved to Dunedin over 20 years ago. Graduating from the Dunedin School of Art in 2010, she has been a vibrant part of the local and national art scene from the outset, as her myriad solo or collective shows, residencies, and performances up and down the country attest, in both public and private spaces. A prolific visual artist primarily creating highly detailed works on paper, Kikkawa is also unafraid to test boundaries, genres, and new materials (including video, kirigami from old wallpaper, kelp, clay, and mushroom spore tests). She is a talented violinist who regularly plays with various formations and her music-making reflects her approach to art: she listens intently, picks up moods and keys, finding harmonies and atonal notes that suggest new pathways to explore. From April 7-17th Motoko will be playing and recording with local collaborators, and performs as part of ‘A Dream is like a Magic Cloak’ on Friday 17 April.
