PDA is real. The struggle is real. And if you have been trying every strategy in the book and still feel like something is missing, it likely is... We made a free webinar and workbook to help you get started. It's part of the brilliant Half Term Hamper curated by @heidimavir . There are many wonderful resources to peruse at your leisure. And they're all free. Get amongst it! Link is in our bio. @audhdacious.humans

Reintroduction post! It's been a little while, and our team is just the two of us again so we thought it was time to refresh our 'Who Are We?' info. We are creating lots of new stuff behind the scenes and are determined to 'be the change we wish to see in the world'. We're friendly, so please say hello if you feel inspired to do so. The Instagram algorithm is always a tricky beast! #audhd #asd #adhd #pdaparenting #neurodivergentparenting #parentcarers #communitysupport #findyourpeople #unschooling #homeeducatoruk

We have followed the work of some incredible humans who have forged the undiagnosed or late diagnosed neurodivergence, recognising perimenopause, and breaking generational cycles through parenting AuDHD & PDA children quest before us. We'll share our favourites below and we invite you to tag any accounts that have helped or or are helping to support you in this current era. If @taylorswift can have eras, we sure as f*ck can too! @_kristyforbes doesn't have a book featured here but if you have a PDAer in your household and you haven't found her work yet, run don't walk. She offers plenty of online resources and parent support which you can find through her Instagram links. @ot_sorcharice offers brilliant resources and her Instagram content is always bang on. Books on our bookshelves are by... @monadelahooke @elizafricker_missingthemark @chloeshayden @tiltparenting @chelsea_luker_psych @neurodivergent_ally @liveplaylearn1 @heidimavir @itskaterobinson & @sirkenrobinson @laura_kerbey @catherine.asta @menopause_doctor @abigailbalfe @karenyoung_heysigmund @adhd_love_ Also Naomi Fisher's A different way to learn. I know there are more I'm missing but better done than perfect on a Saturday night, right?! @audhdacious.humans

It's alot at the moment if you're a parent with non school shaped children in the UK, isn't it? High profile podcasters having uninformed opinions and poking fun at children with different needs. The Children's Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026 potentially contravening the Human Rights Act. The @educationgovuk gaslighting on SEND reform. But if you're not exhausted, there are things you can do to keep challenging the risk of losing rights and stop these f*ckers... 💥 Donate to this fundraiser from Empowering Equine CIC if you have the means (copy and paste the link) /case/challenge-the-risk-of-reducing/?utm_source=backer_social&utm_campaign=challenge-the-risk-of-reducing&utm_reference=5e960d443bb82121c93806ba6116db12&utm_medium=WhatsApp&utm_content=post_pledge_page 💥 Go to @heidimavir profile and use her template to respond to the SEND White Paper consultation before Monday 18th May. She's made it super easy with a template. We've always been told we're too much. But these f*ckers are f*cking with the wrong people. #notfineinschool #notinmyname @audhdacious.humans

Went on a trip to @bletchleyparkuk last week. Luckily there was absolutely nothing interesting, engaging or 'learning adjacent' for our rule makers & rule breakers there...I'd hasten a guess that the majority of brilliant minds that worked there were AuDHDacious too! School is supposed to equal safety. But when it doesn't because you're neurodivergent and you're in cycles of burn out, overwhelm and meltdowns before 8am on a Monday it's time to think differently. So we did. Taking our children on these adventures hasn't always been possible. They needed to recover first. Which took as long as it needed to and was different for each one of them. And financially it's a strain on us as parents & carers. And some days are harder than others. But we can't ignore the damage the system was doing to our families mental health and wellbeing. Connection over conforming. Always. P. S The fabulous rainbow tee is wonderfully soft and from Sam @something_profound . You can also find our merch there too! @audhdacious.humans

We love it when this happens. And you know what, it wasn't just the reading that stood out as progress. It was also: 💚 Sitting in a small group alongside other children which he sometimes finds too much. 💜 Learning how to use a mouse on a computer and managing his frustration tolerance when he didn't get it straight away. 💚 Learning how to use letters to navigate directions in the game. 💜 Taking guidance from an adult when I offered to support him. But we could have made this really uncomfortable for him if we'd pointed all this out. Celebrated, praised or encouraged him. That's not what a PDAer needs. That just adds a layer of expectation in their minds. We now know their capability, so maybe we'll expect it of them every time? No. We stay quiet and keep supporting in gentle ways around them. And shout about it in text messages to our friends and family so they can't hear us! Sound familiar or is this just our experience? #rulemakerrulebreaker #pdaautismuk @audhdacious.humans

We're often asked how kids learn when they aren't directly taught. We unschool our own kids as it's the way that works for our demand avoidant learners. We are ex-teachers. Our kids used to go to school. All of our lives have changed considerably. It's not been easy, but it works. It's definitely improved our lives for the better. Curious? Head over to our website to read the full blog. We'd love to hear your experience. Or if you have any questions, we're always happy to answer them. Pop your comments below.

Neurodivergent cycle breakers assemble 💜 We advocate for these because we live it. In parenting our AuDHDacious PDA & demand avoidant kiddos. In our facilitator, definitely-not-teaching roles working with families and kids who are the same neurotype. Our rule maker, rule breaker children have human needs. And their mental health matters. If you're standing on these hills with us, we're glad you're here. If you're not sure yet, let us know why. #neuroaffirming #rulemakerrulebreaker @audhdacious.humans

Recovering people pleasers unite. A little sweary. Often distracted. Fuelled by coffee. Raging against oppressive and harmful systems. Rebelliously advocating for children's rights. Always compassionately listening to your stories. We take consent and your mental health seriously. If you find anything we say to be pious, patronising or bewildering please look after yourself and unfollow. If you're sticking around please let us know in the comments something offensive someone has said to you, so we can feel a little lighter heading into our bank holiday weekend! Because we have no f*cks left for that shitty behaviour. #rulemakerrulebreaker #connectionoverconforming #livedexperiencematters @audhdacious.humans
