There’s an ease to Aubri Ibrag that feels rare. A sense of self that’s both instinctive and hard-won. Growing up in Melbourne, she developed a love for performance at school and found herself obsessively watching films like Black Swan and La La Land. “I just find that going to the cinema is such a beautiful way to escape for a couple of hours,” she tells SIDE-NOTE. “It’s like you are collectively living in this fantasy world for two hours, and I loved it.”
After getting her start in the Australian teen drama Dive Club, her breakout arrived with Apple TV’s The Buccaneers, where her portrayal of Lizzy Elmsworth revealed a performer unafraid of contradiction and vulnerability. With each role, she continues to refine a collection of work driven by curiosity rather than spectacle, quietly building a career of depth and intention.
