Step into the @aumuseum_katzen with Aidan Dowell (CAS ’26) for a virtual tour of “The Magical World of Joan Danziger,” including a look at this career-spanning retrospective including Dowell’s favorite artwork and behind-the-scenes insights. 🎨 Dowell is a graduating Art History major @auarthistory who serves as the AU Museum’s Gallery Attendant Shift Supervisor.

“Landscapes of Freedom: Harriet Tubman in Context” is an interdisciplinary art and sound exhibition created by AU Harriet Tubman Heritage Project Fellows and Professor Maya Cunningham. The exhibition is presented by students who studied the Harriet Tubman Heritage
Corridor of the Maryland Eastern Shore on an Alt Spring Break trip.

The @americanuniversity Songwriters’ Hub transforms experimentation and collaboration into published music. Part of the Department of Performing Arts’ Music Program, this course provides an outlet for students to explore popular genres, find their sound, and grow alongside fellow musicians.
“It’s enormously gratifying to see these students’ hard work paying off in the form of such awesome recordings, as well as tons of live performances both on- and off-campus,” says Matthew Brown, Songwriters’ Hub founder and director.

The exhibition’s title, a phrase frequently used within the cohort, reflects a shared inquiry into material, concept, and process as they consider what it means to cultivate a studio practice. The works featured in this exhibition mark the moment when ideas, materials, and intentions finally make sense.
