For Ep. 003 of At the Table, we sit down with @sambencheghib , co-founder of @sungaiwatch & @sungai_design . Over the past five years, Sam has been on a mission to tackle plastic pollution, collecting more than 7 million pounds of trash from rivers and oceans across Indonesia. What started as a family project grew into a full-time effort and eventually, a second company: Sungai Design, where they turn that same plastic waste into beautiful pieces of furniture. In this episode, we talk about the early days, what it took to build two impact-driven businesses from the ground up, and a few wild chapters along the way.. including the time Sam ran across America in plastic shoes to raise awareness and somehow ended up winning a free apartment in NYC 😂 One of my personal favorite parts of this story is how Sam leads. If you visit the Sungai Watch website, you won’t just see the founders or a leadership team. You’ll see dozens of portraits of the people doing the work. Every employee is celebrated. That tells you everything you need to know about the culture and what they’ve built, it feels like a family and there’s actually some ironic truth to that.. It was an inspiring one. Very grateful to have people like Sam on this earth. Link in bio. 🎵: @fredagainagainagainagainagain
This week on At the Table we welcome @maijkah , the mastermind behind @lobster___club & one of my favorite artists globally. Maja has been such a light in my journey, we share many laughs on the episode but I am more importantly, blown away with her nuggets of wisdom. She’s learned to channel her emotion & life experiences into creative expression, creating a movement within the art world. Full episode link in bio. Big love.
The trap of conditional love from @gingerrothhaas . In the full episode she breaks this down and discusses the tools that allowed her to find self-love. Links in bio!
The Formula for Anxiety: 1) Body - what do you need, 2) Mind - what are you trying to tell me, 3) Soul - what is the answer? New episode with Ginger is live. Dare I say one of my favorites yet? We discuss self-love, purpose, anxiety & ways to make life easier on ourselves (: Links in bio!
We’re going to be posting some of our favorite nuggets from 2025 to close the year. Here @flynnskidmore talks about the importance of moving with play, joy, awe & wonder vs. shame & fear.. Play-Doh as an analogy for molding and hydrating the human system is fuego.
Cringe Mountain is back.. Delusion is a common thread to people that accomplish what they set out to do.. & we should encourage ourselves along this journey. Being the lone person in the auditorium is not always fun but most of the time a necessity. Consistency & time.. Beautiful thoughts from @rachelista of @glowbar
