The hanger, as an essential tool for garment presentation, frequently travels alongside the products between cities such as Shanghai, London, Paris, and Wuhan.
Beyond considerations of transportation and storage efficiency, we began to rethink the relationship between the hanger and the garment—questioning whether it could be more than merely a “tool.”
With these needs and reflections in mind, we redesigned the hanger.
A detachable modular system addresses issues of volume during transportation and storage.
Its non-fixed structure allows garments to sway subtly with each touch. In these incidental movements, the fabric and its details come alive—we refer to this as the “vitality of the garment.”
The shoulder angle has been refined through multiple adjustments. The slight inclination is designed to more closely follow the natural contours of the human shoulder structure, creating space between the garment and the hanger and allowing for natural draping and folds.
It is also worth noting that the hanger is made entirely of iron—a material that recurs throughout ATTEMPT’s spatial design language.
With frequent use, the iron gradually oxidizes and its surface wears.
These changes are traces left by the passage of time and the ongoing interaction between people and objects.
