Durham Attack Volleyball Club Annual Awards Banquet Wednesday, April 29, 2026 Scott Burrows Club Award: This award is given to a player in their last year of play who has been with the Durham Attack Volleyball Club for many years. This award is given to the player whose attitude and behaviour exemplify the highest levels of sportsmanship, athletic skill, and overall strength of character. They have been an outstanding member of the Durham Attack Volleyball Club, and this award recognizes their contributions to the club over the years. Awarded to: Ethan Baxter Team: Blast It is fitting that Ethan Baxter started playing volleyball with Durham Attack in 2019 at age 10 in the boys’ house league that Scott Burrows was coaching. This sparked his interest in competitive volleyball, and eventually, he joined DA on the U14 Boys team in 2021 and has continued to develop as an athlete and achieve success on the court. Ethan has grown into a very coachable young man and respectfully asks questions when needed to improve himself. During practice and competitions, he listens intently and actively without interruption and quietly displays his volleyball skills on the court. Ethan is always positive and never says anything negative towards opponents, teammates, officials, spectators, or even coaches. He is a dedicated teammate whose athletic skills have been noticed by the Team Ontario Program, as demonstrated by his selection this past summer, where he trained and played in Slovenia as a member of Team Ontario Red. Ethan’s strong character and values have been a benchmark for his team to look up to and to exemplify. Anyone who knows Ethan would know that when he is interested in something, he puts his mind to it and dedicates himself wholly to his goals. Ethan has shared his love of volleyball with younger DA athletes, working with our recreational programs and giving back to the same programs where his career began. His love for the game is obvious, and his commitment to helping others love and grow their own skills is admirable. Congratulations, Ethan! #BlastVolleyball #ScottBurrowsAward #classof2026🏐

The chosen athlete exudes an enthusiasm and spirit that empowers others to participate. The recipient enjoys the opportunity to participate and make positive contributions in all aspects of their volleyball life. Their attitude and spirit are apparent to all, and it is their love of the game that marks their success. Awarded to: Owen McKenzie Team: Blast Owen’s enthusiasm for volleyball started well before he started with Durham Attack in 2021. He cares for everyone on his team and ensures that we are all getting along on and off the court. Owen is the model of a true team player, playing any position the team needs, so that the team will succeed. He consistently puts the needs of others above his own, and his selfless play inspires his teammates around him. Throughout his volleyball career, he has played outside hitter, middle, and is now one of the team’s Libero. He moves seamlessly from one position to the next, putting in the work to grow and develop, always pushing himself to be at his best. Owen has co-captained our team for the past two years, and his leadership is evident to his teammates and coaches. When he is not competing, Owen is coaching house league volleyball, where his lively spirit empowers others to participate in the game that he loves. His natural leadership shines through, and his ability to break down a skill and teach others is exemplary. Owen always has a positive attitude with everyone and is a great ambassador for our team, Club and volleyball. Congratulations, Owen. #BlastVolleyball #LisaFordMemorial #classof2026🏐
