ATTACK RELEASE is back in @blocglasgow in two weeks time. We've got another fabulously diverse cast of legends performing for you. Kicking off we've got electro-punk performer LAURIE BLACK who's been massively active in the EMOM and electronica scenes around the UK over the last few years and her most recent album NOISEBLEED launched last year. We've also got a world of drones and noise from ZONOS and finally, rounding things off we've got ambient beats galore from another seasoned EMOM performer and modular synthesist AM FREQUENCIES. . Using modular synthesis as his primary instrument, he weaves melodic dystopian soundscapes that drift between John Carpenter’s nostalgic synth atmospheres and meditative ambient territories. . His style is heavy on big pads and synthesised strings and is drenched in reverb washes and gorgeous hypnotic, repetitive melodies. . Having previously produced under the names of Dusty Hayes and Esc. Velocity with multiple releases under Tonic Note Records, Cinema Hotdogs was created mainly from an urge to create something different sonically from previous releases. Influenced by the likes of DJ Shadow, Boards of Canada, Mr Oizo, George Clanton, and Com Truise. These influences combined with samples from various TV shows, films, and YouTube clips has spawned "Vaporphonicwave" - an amalgam of 'vaporwave', 'plunderphonics', and 'synthwave'. .
