Work like this keeps the joy alive in my career, now 10+ years in! Some days I’m scared my profession will be wiped out by AI but you know what, the magic of humans - the imperfections, the teamwork, the laughs, the disagreements, the repetition and determination of creatives will always be second to none. This is me, selfishly hoping I’ll keep getting called to voice more characters, more flawed, beautiful humans.

Took me almost 2 weeks to learn this poem, because Punjabi? 😭
When I came across this poem, I found out that when Amrita Pritam wrote it, she was ill and knew her time was near. She, inspired by Imroz, her live-in partner of 40 years, wrote these haunting words as if as a tribute to the unconventional and spiritually strong connection she shared with him.
I’ve tried to capture some of the depth, love and melancholy that this piece represents to me. Hope I did this classic any justice. Would love to hear your thoughts ✍️
