Some highlights from the 2025 NewBlades Exhibition yesterday. What an amazing day and so many fantastic props and prop makers. I am honoured to have won the Richard Gregory SFX award for my Dalek who was very well received.

Heres some of the photos of the Star Trek Compression Rifle when it was work in progress. Most of the body was 3d printed from PLA+ so alot of the work involved was filling with AK model filler, sanding and repeating 😅. I got to learn alot about finishing 3d prints though! along with learning a little bit of electronics here and there.
My highlight for this project however was the custom bolts! I decided to take a crack and trying to replicate the bolts they used on the original phaser and Id say I did a pretty good job! made from 8mm bolts with a threaded metal rod insert to get that button on top and polished to near perfection with sandpaper.

Year 2 of my Prop Making course at uni is underway! For our next task we have to make a puppet of a character from Studio Ghibli - I’ve chosen a Laputa Robot from Castle in the Sky and made a quick mock-up to figure out scale!

Finished a quick project today! A statue of a human from Resogun as seen as an easter egg in another @housemarque game, Returnal!
1st pic is mine and 2nd is what you see in the game in Selene’s house. I love both Resogun and Returnal and hope to make more stuff from them soon.

Recently finished up a commission of a foam “1 ton” weight for client @valpowercosplay
One of the most fun things I’ve built and it only weighs 0.8kg. Plus they look epic with it!
