Original studies & concept for Mirage design "Back to Origins"
The design and the concept story are a perspective on the the beauty and complexity of the Berber people graphical identity and ethos.
"One morning, a grim misfortune struck every household in the village. The men and women realized that the sun had vanished. They implored God, begging the heavens to return the light needed to nourish the plants and animals. The sky remained silent; no swallows soared above the fields anymore. They were abandoned, plunged into darkness, with the moon and stars also gone. Swarms of flies heralded a bleak future. Life had been reduced to its most primitive form.
They sent out their finest ships, manned by their bravest and cleverest men, to combat this evil, but to no avail. Next, they sent their most tender and creative women, armed with their axes, but once again, to no avail. Then, they understood. To regain the warmth of the celestial light, they must unite, become one. They needed to restore balance within the community to reconnect with the generosity of life. They had found the key."
And so, the men and women of the village shot an arrow into the sky. Soon after, the sun reappeared. It kissed their skin with its gentle rays, transforming them in the process. Night fell upon the village, bringing calm and solace under a starry sky. They were finally free.
