Did you know Atlanta’s Flatiron Building is the original? For #ArchitectureWeek, we’re throwing it back to 1897. While the famous NYC namesake gets all the glory, Atlanta’s English-American Building (our Flatiron!) actually beat it to the punch by five years. Standing 11 stories tall at the corner of Peachtree and Broad, this wedge-shaped wonder was Atlanta’s first steel-frame skyscraper. It’s a masterclass in the Chicago School style, proving that good design doesn’t just fill a space; it defines it. Next time you’re downtown, look up and appreciate one of the "originals" of the ATL skyline. 🍑 #CityOfAtlanta #ATLPlanning #DowntownATL #FlatironBuilding #EnglishAmericanBuilding
