ABOUT Ville Vidø creates a fictitious universe where concepts such as domestication and obedience unfold through the training of dogs. Their works exploit the complex play between trainer and animal to portray a society centred on efficiency where people with neurodiversity are forced to show obedience and mental agility.

MINH NGỌC NGUYỄN Get a behind-the-scenes insight into the installation week at “Young Danish Photography ‘23”, where Minh Ngọc Nguyễn engages in a conversation about some of the key ideas behind the work “Imaginary Manual.” ABOUT Minh Ngọc Nguyễn explores Western representations of Southeast Asian culture through photographic still lifes. He deconstructs and reconstructs Southeast Asian objects and iconographies in his photo studio, utilising a studio-lit aesthetic, familiar from commercial photography in particular. ADA ADA ADA. Get a behind-the-scenes insight into the installation week at “Young Danish Photography ‘23”, where Ada Ada Ada engages in a conversation about some of the key ideas behind the work ‘in transitu.’ We have covered many of Ada Ada Ada’s nipples in the video. These different cover-ups are not part of the artwork. ABOUT Ada Ada Ada challenges algorithmic understandings of gender and bodies, taking her own transgender body as the focal point. Since November 2021 she has been documenting her gender transition on Instagram, posting images of her naked torso every week. Since Instagram does not allow images of female nipples, Ada’s mission is to have her nipples deemed sufficiently female to violate the platform’s guidelines, thus leading to their removal. ONE WEEK REMAINING OF YOUNG DANISH PHOTOGRAPHY ’23   This year we have invited Atla, a platform for camera-based art run by Linnea Frandsen and Cecilie Skovdal Stephansen, to be our guest curator. Atla creates opportunities for artistic collaborations, new dialogues and knowledge sharing through mentorships, exhibitions, artist talks, panel debates and interdisciplinary art performances across the Nordic countries. All their initiatives are dedicated to collaboration among people and the unfolding of projects with a particular story to tell or unique ways of expression.   As you can see in the video the catalogue unfolds in different ways and contains loose sheets with reproductions of works. Futhermore artist biographies and the artists’ own descriptions of their exhibited projects. It can be purchased in our bookstore or our web shop. The price is 25 DKK. SARAH HARTVIGSEN JUNCKER AND LOUISE HERRCHE SERUP Get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Young Danish Photography ‘23, where Sarah Hartvigsen Juncker and Louise Herrche Serup engages in a conversation about some of the key ideas behind the work “You still don’t know my name” during the installation week. ABOUT Louise Herrche Serup and Sarah Hartvigsen Juncker have travelled the length and breadth of Denmark in their attempt to map and portray the lives and conditions of migrant sex workers. They visited 152 clinics where migrant sex workers live and work, and with the help of about 35 migrant sex workers they have created a portrait of the parallel world inhabited by the sex workers.

Get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Young Danish Photography ‘23, where Salih Basheer engages in a conversation about some of the key ideas behind the work “The Home Seekers” during the installation week. ABOUT Salih Basheer captures his own quest for a sense of belonging through audio files and a self-portrait. He paints a picture of the alienation and vulnerability he has experienced as a migrant in Cairo and Copenhagen.
