The Blessing Ngobeni Art Prize awards evening was truly something special. Seeing the @johannesburg_stock_exchange back platforms such as this is a reminder of the important role the private sector plays in shaping and supporting culture. Beyond funding, it's about affirming voices and creating real, lasting opportunities for artists. Congratulations to @g.khakha and all the finalists, as well as the @bnartprize team for all their continued efforts in supporting the visual arts industry. Also, shoutout to the Mokorosis; patrons of the arts - seeing them was such a delight. 🤩 May this kind of support continue to open doors and keep the arts in Africa alive and growing.

**DM us for Elsabe Milandri's latest catalogue** An artist driven by the process, Elsabe moves between drawing, mark making, writing and painting. Her work serves as a catalyst for reflections on motherhood, language, nature, music and more. Embracing an intuitive process, she leans into being unpredictable. Her studio space allowed us a glimpse into the intricacies of her mind. These Open Studios serve as an intimate exchange between the artist and collector and what an exchange this was

**DM us for Boytchie's latest catalogue** To step into Boytchie's studio is to step into the interior of a man whose practice is a direct channel for everything he carries. Compassion for those who suffer, heartbreak at what he witnesses and a barely contained rage at systemic injustice. His stylised figures serve as stark, unflinching reminders of the world's capacity for harm. Working across unconventional mediums and varying scales Boytchie has developed a visual voice that is both instantly recognisable and deliberately provocative. These Open Studios are intended to facilitate intimate engagement between collectors and artists as well as establish long-term collector-artist relationships. We enjoyed experiencing Boytchie's space.

We’ve come to the end of CPT Art week 2026 and my heart is full. There was a beautiful global exchange at #ictaf this year where I thoroughly enjoyed discovering new contemporary African artists and the familiarity of some of our established talents. The various exhibitions around the fair were also a delight. I’m leaving the fair feeling inspired and carrying with me a sense of optimism for the industry.

A glimpse into our first edition of Open Studios. Our aim is to build meaningful relationships between artists and collectors that last beyond a single, cold purchase. This space allowed for thoughtful, honest engagement and a deeper understanding of the work being produced. Thank you to Maria and her team at Bag Factory for opening their doors and to the artists who welcomed us into their studios with generosity. May this be the beginning of a growing community where art is collected with intention and connection. To many, many more. 🥂 📹 @quinxxysworld

I enjoy it when art refuses to stay in its expected lane. 'Motion & Expression' @_origin_art

Cape Town Art week had a different rhythm about it this year and I leaned into it. I was slower and more intentional with the works I engaged with, prioritising understanding and connection over ticking off every booth/exhibition. Thoroughly enjoyed doing a pulse check of the current market.
