In Zeist, the Netherlands,
@atelierfront designed a house shaped by outdoor chambers “where you can live comfortably inside and outside all year round,” as the architects explain.
The structure is built with larch planks from Heko for both exterior and interior cladding.
External walls are insulated with breathable wood fiber by GUTEX, supporting a healthy indoor climate. Inside, adobe bricks and clay render by ClayTec regulate humidity and add thermal mass.
Chestnut planks by Houthandel Bunnik define the outdoor flooring, while Fraké wood by Platowood is used for window and door frames. The exterior is finished with lime render by Gräfix, completing the house with natural and circular materials.
Photographed by
@mwahartnibbrig , here materials are not decorative, they define how the house performs and how it feels to live in.
