Two Days To Go: Sote & CORIN at CTM
This Friday, CTM is hosting a double premiere featuring Sote, a pillar of Iran’s electronic music community, and rising talent CORIN, who creates hybrid sonic worlds where contemporary electronic music and ancestral forms converge. Both musicians were paired in 2025 through Forecast’s mentorship program.
Sote will premiere the live exploration Sound Design In Far Sea. Transformed echoes of Persian instruments and field recordings dissolve into shimmering layers of synthesis, microscopic sonic detail and tactile density. Performed in an immersive surround format using the d&b Soundscape system, the piece submerges its audience in a sea of disorientation and awe, a shifting zone where resonance and abstraction entwine.
CORIN’s performance marks the premiere of Resonance, developed through Forecast with mentoring from Sote. In this electroacoustic composition, CORIN constructs harmonic and rhythmic systems while live-sampling the kulintang—a Filipino precolonial gong-chime instrument—and combining it with synthesis and digital processing.

Mentor Sote and mentee Corin will premiere new works on January 30, 2026, during the CTM Festival in Berlin, within the context of their work-stay.
As part of CTM's Resynthesising the Traditional program, Sote, who's a pillar of Iran’s music community, and rising talent CORIN, will perform a spatial concert at Berlin's Haus der Visionäre.
Sote will premiere Sound Design In Far Sea, a live exploration departing from the confines of structure. Transformed echoes of Persian instruments and field recordings from Iran dissolve into shimmering layers of synthesis, microscopic sonic detail and tactile density shaping a landscape where memory turns liquid and history drifts through circuitry. Performed in an immersive surround format using the d&b Soundscape system, the piece submerges its audience in a sea of disorientation and awe, a shifting zone where resonance and abstraction entwine like light refracted underwater.
Developed through Forecast 10, CORIN’s performance Resonance creates harmonic and rhythmic systems within non-Western musical ecologies by sampling the kulintang, a Filipino precolonial gong chime instrument: alternate futures tethered to ancestral memory.
