Sneak peak into @toledo_89 class rehearsal from Latin Sol! Don’t miss her piece Doom Bags: A Love Letter to the ADHD Werido at Spring Dance Fest this weekend 4/24-25-26!!
- Toledo -
Through her journey with CONTRA-TIEMPO Toledo has toured nationally and internationally with the evening length works Full. Still. Hungry, I Dream America, Against the Times, Agua Furiosa, and was part of the creation and performances of joyUS justUS. Through her love and appreciation of the social justice element of the work, Toledo became the Community Engagement Specialist for the company and helped to facilitate workshops and community events to continue to spread the incredible message of love and resistance through dance.
While maintaining a full schedule of independent gigs throughout Los Angeles, Toledo graduated with a Bachelors of Fine arts in Dance at UCLA, honing her skill in the hopes to elevate her career as a choreographer and professor in dance. In this next chapter, Toledo is currently in the process of receiving her Master’s of Fine Arts in dance at Arizona State University. As a choreographer, Toledo is currently investigating her research as a Latin dance practitioner and an artist with ADHD, to create an evening length work to help demystify liminal spaces that neurodivergency allows us to see differently. After so many years and wonderful experiences performing and creating through various dance companies and capacities, she is ready to pursue the creation of her own evening length works and continues to pursue the dream of becoming a professor of dance, spreading education and a love of community through Afro-Latin movement.
