Zach Cole walks it off in extras as the Astros beat the Mariners 4-3 at Daikin Park and snap the losing streak.
Seattle struck first with a leadoff homer, but Lance McCullers Jr. settled in after that and gave Houston a strong outing on the mound. Christian Walker got the Astros on the board with an oppo homer before Jose Altuve tied the game with a bases-loaded walk.
Houston later took a 3-2 lead on Altuve’s sac fly, but Seattle answered in the 9th after Bryan King walked Julio Rodríguez with the bases loaded to tie the game.
In the 10th, Bryan Abreu came up huge by stranding the go-ahead run and keeping the game tied to give Houston another chance offensively.
Then came the bottom of the inning.
With the crowd on its feet, Zach Cole delivered the walk-off hit to send Daikin Park into a frenzy and give the Astros a much-needed win over Seattle.
