[slight tw: for body horror elements] Hi guys! I know my posts have been pretty lighthearted and silly, but truthfully, I’ve been anxious out of my mind for weeks now. Tomorrow, I have my first ever surgery. I’ll be having two large fibroids removed. Since their discovery, I’ve also been dealing with the grief that this may be something that’s been causing me so much strife for more than the last two years. Dealing with agony that I wasn’t taken seriously for, being made to feel and feeling like I’m being dramatic when I complained about symptoms, powering through in spite of my body sending me signals that something was wrong. Having to forgive myself and forgive others for just not knowing that this was a thing. One thing I’m very grateful for is Medicaid up here on the East coast. Because of this program, I’ve been able to get help and have this procedure without breaking my bank nor my body. If I would have stayed in the South, I’d really be SOL with medical bills out of my ears. My doctor has also been such a breath of fresh air. While I may be nervous, I’m grateful for her confidence and how knowledgeable and communicative she’s been. With that being said, ladies, theydies, and uterus owners, please make sure you stay on top of your check ups. Get your iron levels checked. Get your vitamin D levels checked. If you’re experiencing any similar symptoms, please get checked up! Our bodies are all we really got! Astro is a Tattoo Apprentice Week 1 (to be continued…) So in addition to Monster Girl Corps, I’m working on an autobiographical zine manga documenting my experiences as a Tattoo Apprentice. Every week has been an adventure or learning experience and I’m excited to share!
