This is a Mosaic showing the progression of the total lunar eclipse from a few weeks ago! Lunar eclipses happen when the Earth is perfectly between the Sun and the Moon and the Earth's shadow is projected onto the Moon. These events last several hours and this photo shows the transition of the Moon over the lunar eclipse!

My FIRST mosaic of the Moon! 🌙
This is a 12,000 × 12,000 pixel (144 megapixel) image made by capturing multiple zoomed-in photos and stitching them together into one massive image of the Moon! Zoom in to see the detail!
I used my @highpointscientific Apertura AD8 8” Dobsonian telescope with a @sonyalpha ZV-E10 mirrorless camera to take the shots.
I aligned the images in GIMP and brought out the mineral colors so you can actually see the surface composition. The blue areas show titanium-rich basalt, while the yellow and brown areas are richer in iron. These colors are real, but they’re way too faint to see with the naked eye, so I boosted the saturation to reveal what’s hiding in the lunar regolith.

I was out stargazing the other night and in between adjusting my telescope I Looked up to see a very bright white streak across the entire sky! Did anyone else see it?
I wasn't sure what it was in the moment but had found out of a recent Chinese rocket launch (LandSpace Zhuque-2E rocket). The trail is likely the the sunlit exhaust or re-entry of the 2nd stage booster.
This was observed from Iowa on may 13th 11:21pm. Super cool event to see!

This night launch was a falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral carrying Starlink satellites, viewed from the 528 on Banana River. I captured these photos using my Sony ZV-E10 and a 300mm telephoto lens! 🚀
