One random weekday night in winter, Seb and I were eating at our favorite neighborhood Thai spot in Williamsburg. We were talking about a friend’s wedding we were about to attend. The topic of marriage came up (naturally lol), an act that neither one of us ever had craved in our own lives. We had already made the spiritual commitment of partnership to each other. But then, over some spicy green curry, we both had a simultaneous moment of realization that led to the question, should we just get married? why wouldn’t we? We stand for all the promises, sacrifices, and big picture long lasting love. It just made sense. We’ve always made sense. So, about a month later, after failing to secretly elope (because of my big mouth), we planned an intimate dinner with our parents and chosen family at one of our beloved spots,
@gramercytavern . We surprised everyone by exchanging our vows and signing the dotted line at that dinner then continued on to drink and dance the night away at a cute red velvet booth underground cocktail bar in SoHo. It was one of those perfect, fun, wild, in love, New York nights that we’ll never forget.
