Nous vous attendons nombreux et nombreuses pour l'inauguration de l'exposition-restitution de la résidence de recherche et de création de l'artiste Aster Verrier !
Invité à la Maison forte de Hautetour de mai à juillet 2025 pour une résidence de recherche et de création, Aster Verrier mène un travail basé sur l'archivage des mouvements des grimpeurs pratiquant l'escalade aux alentours de Saint-Gervais, sur le massif du mont Blanc. Ces gestes, documents vivants devenus langage, témoignent de la relation intime entre l’homme fait grimpeur et son support d’expression, la paroi, la montagne. La continuité des gestes que seul le grimpeur ou l’alpiniste aguerri est capable de déchiffrer sur cette partition ouverte, est rejouée par Aster Verrier, dans des vidéos où la falaise a disparu, seuls les gestes restent. Aster Verrier donne ainsi à voir un répertoire de formes, archives chorégraphiques évoquant les paysages et ses reliefs. Il crée ainsi une installation qui rend compte de la beauté et de la diversité des espaces alpins tout en invitant à réfléchir sur les enjeux contemporains qui les affectent.

VoidClimbing
A speculative installation exploring a possible future in which the mountains have collapsed, resulting in the disappearance of the climber's playground. This tragic transformation of the landscape drastically changes the mountaineer's practice. In the created space, we embrace this possible context to explore how our practice can evolve. From my climber and designer perspective, I reflected on how my sport and its subculture could embrace this new topography, through choreography and movements, equipment and climbing assets.
Void Climbing aims to depict an alternative to our current playground, engaging with new possibilities.
