The B&W room is split in two halves, dry area which houses the enlargers, and the wet area.
The dry area holds 3 De Vere enlargers; one solely dedicated to 35mm, and the other two you can print all formats (35mm; All Medium Formats, and 5x4).
All enlargers are fitted with 50mm; 80mm & 105mm lenses. We also have additional larger lenses on special request.
The wet area houses the chemistry, sink, trays & wash. Prints can be printed up to 16” x 20” maximum size.
Additionally there are drying racks for prints, and a dedicated resin dryer.
There are also Neg processing and drying facilities too

We have 3 x individual Colour darkrooms, and one large Black and White darkroom.
The Colour darkrooms are fitted with two enlargers, and a wide array of lenses and neg carriers to print from 35mm, all medium formats to large format (5x4).
Top of the range re-engineered Colenta, printing up to 16” x 20”
The Black and White darkroom contains 3 x enlargers, all kitted out with neg holders and lenses to print all formats. There are also multiple trays, a large sink and big print wash.
There are 3 x daylight balanced viewing spaces to inspect prints, drying racks, and A3 print scanning facilities.
We also have a big ol’ UV unit bedding in and wanting to be used very soon!

We are pleased to invite applications for a free, two-day black and white photography workshop, led by photographers @jesse_glazzard and @benbradishellames
This workshop is designed for transgender, non-binary, and gender-questioning youth aged 18-26. While open to all within this age group, we particularly encourage applications from those who identify as Black transgender, People of Colour (POC), or who would normally find it difficult to access this type of workshop due to financial constraints.
Workshop Details:
Dates: Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th December
Time Commitment: 3-4 hours per day (attendance on both days is required)
Location: Assembly Darkrooms, 89a Shacklewell Lane, London, E8 2EN. Please note that unfortunately this venue is not wheelchair accessible.
Cost: Free. All necessary equipment will be provided.
