A huge thank you to Rotary Club of Fairfield City for supporting Aspect Western Sydney School through their annual charity golf day. ⛳❤️
It was wonderful to see our school community come together, with Principal Michelle Zikmundovsky, staff and students proudly supporting the day by running the BBQ.
We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing generosity and support from Rotary Club of Fairfield City in helping to make a positive difference for autistic children and young people in Western Sydney.
Thank you for being part of our community.

Last night, we hosted a truly special event, “The Art of Possibility”, Autism and the Arts, at the beautiful Sydney Opera House, welcoming over 130 guests for an evening of art, insight and inclusion. 🎭✨
The event explored the connection between autism and the arts, celebrating how, with the right understanding and supports, Autistic strengths and creativity can flourish.
Our brilliant host, @adam_spencer1 , guided our guests through authentic and thought-provoking conversations from @emrusciano , @mr_a_plus_michael Andrew Radford, Dan Graham, Sam Worrad, Anita Connell and Anna Brady, alongside incredible performances from Jerrah Patston and Sam Worrad (Club Weld)
We were also incredibly proud to launch the Aspect Impact Fund - a bold, long-term initiative designed to fund brilliant futures for Autistic Australians through perpetual education scholarships.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a meaningful and memorable night. Let's continue working together to build a future where everyone can thrive.

“Things are always just a bit more difficult for Autistic children.”
That’s something I didn’t fully understand until I became Freddie’s mum.
For Freddie, everyday life comes with extra layers, planning, adjustments, exit strategies, just to take part in the world.
But when the world asks, “How can we do better?” instead of “How can we change him?” those layers fall away.
And that’s when Freddie gets the chance to truly shine ✨
Will you help remove some of those layers for another child like Freddie?

A big thank you to every partner, organisation, school and individual who took part in World Autism Understanding Month (#WAUM) this year. Your support helped amplify Autistic voices and grow understanding, acceptance and inclusion across our communities.
This year’s campaign reached people right around Australia - appearing on social media, in workplaces, schools, shopping centres, airports, museums, sporting venues and retail spaces, and so many other places in between.
Thank you to everyone who shared the message by downloading the partnership pack, displaying posters and fact sheets, or acknowledging WAUM on social media. With thousands of resource downloads, your support truly travelled far and wide. 🥰
Your involvement helps build understanding not just throughout this month, but every day. We’re so grateful to have you alongside us.

Transitions don’t just happen at the start of the school year. They happen every day. For many #Autistic students, changes in routine, environments, staff, or expectations can affect wellbeing, confidence and readiness to learn.
That’s why successful transitions aren’t one‑off events, they’re ongoing processes. With thoughtful planning, consistency and flexibility, schools can help students feel safer, more connected and ready to engage. Families benefit too, when they feel informed, included and supported along the way.
In this article for @teacher.magazine , Anna Brady, Principal of Aspect Vern Barnett School, shares practical strategies that can help students feel more prepared and supported throughout these moments of change. 🔗 link in bio
📅 This important conversation continues at Aspect’s next Community of Practice on 10 June, focused on navigating transitions across the learning lifespan for Autistic students. The free online session is open to anyone interested in building knowledge, sharing ideas and strengthening inclusive practice. 👉 Register now 🔗 link in bio too

While a Mother’s Day gift of flowers or chocolates is a thoughtful way to show our appreciation, there’s another gift that can make a difference all year round: self-compassion!
Self-compassion is the act of being warm and understanding towards ourselves. 🥰
In our latest blog post, Dr Ru Ying Cai explains new research from the Aspect Research Centre for Autism Practice (ARCAP) and Associate Professor James Kirby (@uniofqld ) which shows when parents of Autistic children practise small acts of self-compassion – slowing down breathing, shifting to a more supportive internal voice or finding small “micro-moments” of calm – they can improve their wellbeing, reduce stress and change the tone of everyday moments at home.
This Mother’s Day, we’re encouraging all parents to show themselves the same care and understanding they give their children every day. 🥰

Last week, our students from Aspect Central Coast School stepped into a real workplace environment, bringing the Aspect coffee van to the new offices of ACRWORLD in Sydney CBD as part of their Life Skills program and served over 120 cups of coffee. ☕❤️
Operating as a small social enterprise, the coffee van gives students the opportunity to build hands-on barista skills while also developing commercial and organisational skills in a real setting. From taking orders to serving customers, every interaction builds confidence and supports future pathways to employment.
A huge thank you to the community and @morson_edge_australia for going above and beyond in supporting this opportunity, and to everyone who stopped by and shared a moment with our students. Your support helps make experiences like this possible.

🏗️👷♀️👷New classrooms delivered at Aspect Port Macquarie!
Four new modular classrooms have been delivered and craned into place at Aspect’s new Port Macquarie campus at Thrumster. 🙌
The buildings were delivered in sections and assembled onsite, with fit out now underway as construction continues. It was a very special moment for students and staff, who watched the classrooms lifted into place and visited the site to see the progress firsthand!
Once complete, the new campus will support students from Kindergarten to Year 6, providing purpose built, autism informed learning spaces for the growing local community. 🌱
Thank you to @modstructgroup , @marathon.au , @kingandcampbell , and the Aspect project team including James Cole and Scott Brown, for their work on this important project.
