💥 🎉 🗞️BIG NEW NEWS!💥 🎉 🗞️ Today ASMS officially opened the Wilson Science Research Center on our campus! It is the only college-level research facility for high schoolers in Alabama. 👏 🔗Read our full press release! (link in bio) 🔹The building is named after famous Alabamian and “the father of biodiversity,” Dr. Edward O. Wilson.    🔹The facility will support advanced STEM learning and the ASMS Research Fellows Program – an innovative educational program where ASMS students are paired with a faculty mentor to work on a college-level research project throughout the school year. 🔹The world class 32,000 square foot facility includes dedicated research rooms, state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, upgraded classrooms, innovative technology, and collaboration spaces. 🔹As a result of their research experiences, ASMS students are standing out in competitive college admissions and scholarships processes.  🔹 The facility is expected to support workforce development in Alabama by preparing ASMS students to fill the need for high-level STEM jobs. 🔹 Alabama high schoolers from all 67 counties are invited to apply to ASMS and gain experience researching, learning, and discovering in the WSRC! 💚Thank you to all our donors! 🤩 We had not one, but TWO ASMS seniors recognized by the local section of the American Chemical Society! Congrats to Maddie Borchert and Anush Mainali on their selection! They attended a ceremony and dinner on the campus of the University of Mobile alongside students from several other local schools, and heard from a guest speaker from the university. Way to go, Dragons! 🐉

Another year, another successful ASMS Spring Research Forum! 🎉 ⭐ We are so proud of our students in the Research Fellows Program for their months of hard work and dedication to these projects—it definitely paid off! 🐉 Congratulations to Dr. Bob Ashurst (Class of 1994), this year’s ASMS Dragon Legacy Distinguished Alumni Award winner!
