@potus — What are you afraid of? I’ll never back down when it comes to defending our democracy. The Election Rigging Response Act just passed the CA State Legislature — now it’s in the people’s hands. The voters get the final word. Californians aren’t stupid. We see the power grabs. We’re coming for the truth, and we will save our democracy — with or without you. Democracy isn’t yours to rig. It’s ours to protect. My vote yesterday gives every Californian a voice and vote on the matter. #CA #Legislature #Redistricting #USA #Democracy

There’s absolutely no place for secret police activities in a free and democratic society. With the passage of SB 627, we recommit ourselves to the values of openness and transparency in law enforcement that should define California. @senatorsrp @scott_wiener @senatorarreguin #CAleg #Trump #SB627 #NoSecretPolice #California

The Trump Administration has chosen to weaponize immigration enforcement - not to enhance public safety, but to intimidate and divide. This is not just reckless; it's a betrayal of American values and constitutional rights they've all sworn on oath to protect and defend. The federal government is targeting immigrants in ways that are not only cruel - they're unconstitutional. ICE's aggressive tactics are tearing families apart, sowing fear in our neighborhoods, and undermining the very fabric our communities hold. We stand united with Los Angeles and all Californians against this reckless authoritarian overreach. Know Your Rights resources: a44.asmdc.org/know-your-rights

Yesterday I had the opportunity to tour Industrial Light & Magic and see firsthand how California’s world-class post production and visual effects industry continues to set the global standard for innovation, storytelling, and cutting-edge technology. The talent, creativity, and economic impact generated by these artists and technicians reinforce why California must act now to strengthen and retain this critical sector. As other regions aggressively compete for post production and VFX work, we must work to keep these high-skilled, high-paying jobs here at home. That’s why I’m fighting to pass AB 2319 to create a California post production and visual effects tax incentive program — to support our workforce, grow our creative economy, and ensure the future of filmmaking innovation remains in California. Thank you to the team at Industrial Light & Magic for the insightful tour and for showcasing the incredible work being done right here in our state!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, and mother figures in our communities. Today, we celebrate the strength, compassion, and sacrifices of the women who help shape our families and guide future generations. Your love and dedication make our neighborhoods stronger every day. On this Mother’s Day, I especially want to recognize the working mothers balancing careers, caregiving, and countless responsibilities with grace and resilience. Thank you for all that you do! Wishing everyone a joyful and meaningful Mother’s Day surrounded by loved ones. 💐 — Assemblymember Nick Schultz

It was a pleasure to join advocates and organizers for the second annual Children’s Environmental Health Advocacy Day yesterday. I was grateful to share my excitement about AB 1603, which proposes a phased ban on PFAS (“forever chemicals”) in pesticides used on food crops. The bill seeks to prohibit the sale and use of these pesticides, aiming for a full ban by January 1, 2035, to reduce toxic accumulation in food.
