Celebrating 30 years of Malcolm X Library! For 3 decades, this space has been a pillar of knowledge, culture, and community in Southeast San Diego. More than a library, it is a symbol of empowerment and the lasting impact of investing in our communities. Honored to celebrate a place rooted in Black history, education, and the belief that knowledge is power.
ICYMI: Last week I had the pleasure of presenting ACR 183 on Black Health Equity Advocacy Week in partnership with the California Legislative Black Caucus @cablackcaucus .
It’s time for us to fight for our Black constituents and put their health first. This is only the beginning of a longer but, needed conversation.
As @asmlashae said, our vote is our voice. Voting is a fundamental right and AJR 29 is about protecting California voters. Assembly Republicans voted against this resolution, once again siding with Trump.

April was a busy month in the 79th District!
My district staff had the chance to attend three incredible Earth Day celebrations across our community: the 5th Annual Ken-Tal Earth Day, the Chollas Creekside Earth Day Extravaganza, and the 34th Annual WorldBeat Global Earth Day Festival.
Thank you to all the organizations and residents doing the vital work to keep our communities safe, clean, and thriving for future generations.

Today, on International Workers’ Day, we honor the workers who keep our communities and economy moving forward. From farmworkers and teachers to nurses, public servants, service workers, and labor organizers, every right we have on the job was fought for through collective action and sacrifice.
