A lot of women think they need to push harder to see results. But sometimes the fatigue, stalled progress, and feeling “off” is your body asking for recovery, not more intensity. Swipe for what the data actually shows.

I’ve spent 25+ years studying metabolism, muscle, performance, and health, and so much of the research never makes it into real life. So I started The Lab Report. A place where I’ll share what my team and I are studying, what the data actually says, and how to apply it to your own life without the noise. Research, translated. Subscribe at the link in bio.

Happy Mother’s Day! Where we’re all just trying to figure it out. Shout out to the mom’s moms. The ones who cheer each other on. The one’s who don’t judge. And the one’s celebrate and cry in the same moments. 👊🏼

Ever wonder how much a creatine scientist can lift? We found out. And we got humbled. Dr @asmithryan walked us through her team’s latest perimenopause study — then put us through the actual workout her participants do. We talked creatine, women’s health, and what the research is finally catching up on. Leading scientist. Beast in the gym. Mom of two. She really does it all 💪

Got to share a little bit about how science and nutrition come to life for 2-4th graders today. Didn’t get many pictures because we were jumping and eating and laughing. The future is bright with this generation.

Perimenopause matters. We also need more answers. NIH is putting on a free 3-day workshop about the state of the science and more importantly a call to action for key gaps and research priorities. This was supposed to be in person in December 2025, but has pivoted to virtual with free access to all. Some incredible speakers planned. I’ll be talking about nutrition for perimenopause symptoms. See topics and to register go here: https://prevention.nih.gov/research-priorities/research-needs-and-gaps/pathways-prevention/advancing-research-improve-health-during-menopausal-transition #researchtopractice #womenshealth #perimenopausehealth

We all have insecurities. Let’s own them Science breeds competition and egos, when in reality there is a need for all of us. Differing perspectives is key to new discovery. In a world where there is so much hate. Be a light. 💡(Or at least don’t dim others- we’re all competing with ourselves).

This recent meta-analysis that we’ve been working on for 2+ years, highlights that consistent resistance training is key for effectiveness. There are many approaches that work. Your approach can and should be adapted to your goals, your body, and how much time you have. Just lift- 2 x per week. That doesn’t mean the story is over. The purpose of this wasn’t to dial in to sex differences or to uncover other health benefits of resistance training. Based on current evidence, there is still more to explore here, which is the great thing about research. Use what we have now and continue to add new chapters to the story. #science #consistencyiskey #dowhatworksforyou
