Wouldn’t it be nice to party by the sea without generic club music? That’s exactly why we started with Le Freak, a song everyone instantly understands, then moved into Hollabrick Girl. The artist Never Dull blends Gwen Stefani and The Commodores in the same remix, so in less than a minute you hear three iconic tracks bringing both nostalgia and elegance to a high-end beach club atmosphere. What more do you need this summer? Music used: Chic – Le Freak Never Dull – Hollabrick Girl

What’s great about music is that there are no barriers. That’s exactly what we felt when we created this transition. Moving from an 80s disco-rock track to a 2000s R&B hit shouldn’t work. But together, they become something new. A single groove that speaks to every generation. This is why we love mixing classics: to remind you that music has no barriers. Music used: Queen – Another One Bites The Dust Nelly – Hot in Herre

Sometimes you just have to switch the mood. We love contrast and we love to make it happen. Consistency is important but the same music again and again is boring, so boring that you can’t tell one track from another. We love to break rules, break things, and rebuild something after. This transition was made for the moment you switch from an Aperol Spritz to a tequila shot. Music used: Ninetoes – Finder Noizu & Tony Romera – 4 The People Jay Robinson – Nineteen81

Hard to believe this track is almost 30 years old. Will Smith’s music doesn’t seem to age. Still groovy, still cool, even after all these years. With ASMA we also like playing original tracks, not only remixes. Here we started with Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It, then moved into a more Kaytranadish vibe, perfect for an Oscars afterparty. Ça claque, don’t you think? Music used: Will Smith – Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It Pharrell – Can I Have It Like That (Folkestad Remix)

We just made this new track, sounds like Jungle on a Daft Punk trip. Or maybe just sounds like us. Should we release it?

What’s the similarity between Tarantino and ASMA? We don’t have any Oscars (yet) but we share the same idea, being pop without being cheap. Vintage mainstream is our favourite music. Fred Again is already pop culture and the track Magic Key blew our minds as kids watching MTV. The Magic Key remix by LeMarquis and Tilka adds a layer of pure nostalgia, as we listened to it when we were teenagers in a European capital. Good taste always beats trends. Music used: Fred Again & The Blessed Madonna – Marea (We’ve Lost Dancing) One T & Cool T – The Magic Key (LeMarquis & Tilka Remix)

No track is ever really dead. PAWSA proved it when he flipped Dirty Cash. TikTok proves it every week. We prove it every time we play Pump Up the Jam and the floor loses it. The people who understand this are usually the ones worth playing for. Longue vie à la musique, sous toutes ses formes. Music used: Technotronic – Pump Up the Jam PAWSA & Adventures of Stevie V – Dirty Cash (Money Talks)

The best chefs don’t stick to one cuisine. The most interesting plates are always the ones you didn’t expect. That’s exactly how we think about this transition. MC Hammer and Terrence Parker shouldn’t be on the same menu. One of the biggest hip-hop records of the 90s and a Detroit house legend. But when you dare to put them together, something new appears on the floor. Fusion is what makes ASMA, ASMA. Music used: M.C. Hammer – U Can’t Touch This Terrence Parker – Somethin’ Here

Some tracks hit harder when a voice takes over. The Chemical Brothers’ No Reason is already the kind of record we adore. Then Fergie steps in and suddenly it feels like she’s dropping a freestyle straight over it. Rhythmic, sharp, almost aggressive. Like the track was waiting for her all along. It’s rare that a vocal on top of a drop makes it better. That’s exactly why we love this mashup. Music used: The Chemical Brothers – No Reason Black Eyed Peas – Shut Up

One thing we always enjoy with ASMA is finding two iconic French tracks that match together. It’s not easy because we’re usually not into French pop variety, but some songs deserve a place in a DJ set. Je dois m’en aller by Niagara is one of them. Intro also has long sustained vocal moments that sound surprisingly similar to Je dois m’en aller, which made the transition natural even though they’re not in the same key. The result feels slightly jazzy and unusual. That’s a transition everyone always loves! Music used: Niagara – Je dois m’en aller Alan Braxe, Fred Falke – Intro
