10 years ago today my life was forever altered. On this day I said goodbye to my best friend, my role model, my mom.
People always ask me, “How do you do it?” And my answer has always been the same: at 19, I didn’t have a choice but to keep going.
My mom was a pillar of strength. She was raised by two very kind, generous—but tough—parents, and she instilled those same values in me. If you knew her, you knew she was no bullshit 😆 Honest, to the point, creative (way ahead of her time), and unbelievably generous.
She spent her whole life making people beautiful as a hairdresser. But it was never just about what she did with someone’s hair — it was what she gave from her soul. She had a way of making everyone feel special, seen, and deeply loved.
I will always miss you, Mom. I don’t get to have the memories of growing old with you, but I will treasure the ones we did have and hold them close to my heart forever.
One day we’ll be together again, and I’ll get to hear your infectious laugh again.
10 years without you, but your love still lives in everything I do. I love you mom 🤍🪽✨🫂
