Design Thinkers was on our bucket list, and we were thrilled to show up to Toronto in style. It was an honour to share our real-life experience with the crowd. No fluff, just the highs and lows of working in this industry. We opened up about the expectations we had, the disappointments we faced when we didn’t meet them and the shift in mindset that has fuelled our career ever since. Thank you to @rgdcanada for having us. A big thank you to @javon.ca for capturing this footage of us.

2 weeks ago, I attended my first Blaxpo and I was blown away! The Montreal edition was a small pop up with a BIG impact. The curation and execution of the event was so well done, the panels and workshops were intellectually stimulating, thoughtful, human, authentic and culturally relevant. The @blaxpo team really killed it! I am so proud and in awe of you @thenicoleantoine and what you are building. The impact and community you are creating is what success looks like to me. Bravo! 👏🏽🖤

Did you know the In Perspectives approach was used to develop the visual identity of the project?  Every creative choice, from the development of the the guide and videos’ content, to the design aesthetic and creative direction of the project itself, was influenced and inspired by the conversations we had with the community members and design professionals who participated in the project’s development. LINK IN BIO to consult the guide and videos, and learn more about how you can implement our inclusive approach to design to your next project. — In Perspectives visual identity and guide was designed by the @sixcinqui ème team: Monida Panchapor Bou @monida.bou and Ines Yunee Tremblay @iyt.designs under the creative direction of Ashley Phillips @ashxph . — This project is supported by the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec, under the Entente sur le développement culturel de Montréal between the City of Montréal and the Government of Québec.

We knew the guide was just the beginning, so we went deeper. To help people better understand the In Perspectives approach, we created a web series that brings it to life through the voices of people in our communities who are already doing the work. Introducing Shifting Mindsets: a 4-part video interview series spotlighting the experiences of four interdisciplinary design professionals who embody the In Perspectives approach in their practice and who show us what it really takes to design with inclusion in mind. In this series, we made sure to anchor everything in lived experience because true inclusion starts by listening to the people directly involved. Learn from our conversations with: • Kevin Yuen Kit Lo (@sl0wriot , @lokimon ) • Joman Baku (@mrjomanbaku ) • Maira A. González Navarro (@maira.diseno ) • Farah Khan (@farahfromhouse9 @house9design ) Each one offers powerful insight into how we can shift our mindset and design more consciously. 1. Développer ses connaissances (recherche et exploration) 2. Concevoir avec l’inclusivité en tête 3. Poser une intention claire 4. Faciliter les échanges (with care) 5.
