Congrats on the Oscar win to the amazing #amymadigan , and many thanks to Amy and @max.w_s for giving me the opportunity to brag about having done her makeup for the recently released film Rebuilding, as you see pictured here. We didn’t do anything fancy as she had a very natural look, consistent with the directorial signature of Max. What I did apply was skincare by @weleda and @sisleyparisofficial Black Rose moisturizer with teeny amounts of much loved @chantecaille Future Skin foundation.

Here is a little backstory for those not in the business or not in the know. In 2011 tattoo artist and creator of Mike Tyson’s facial tattoos S. Victor Whitmill famously filed suit against Warner Bros. for copyright infringement for featuring his tattoos on a character in the film The Hangover. A tattoo artist has ownership over his work and written permission must be granted to be legally featured in a film. Ever since the incident, tattoo covering and altering has become very common practice on film sets. It isn’t always a very fast process and it takes a lot of skill to properly do it, especially if the tattoos cover large areas of the body.
We would have covered these regardless of the lawsuit because the actor was playing a real person who didn’t have any tattoos. This tattoo cover was done with airbrushed alcohol paint @ebaperformancemakeup@skinillustratorofficial
