Life update: Authoring my first children’s book ❤️!! With a New York Times best selling children’s book illustrator @ashluka (aka husband) no less! Thanks to our agent Wendi Gu for believing in Sundays Are for Lola and @kokilabooks @penguinrandomhouse for the first steps in making it come alive! Step 1, move back home to Cali for now for some childhood healing. Step 2, make a children’s book! Yeehaw and god bless the Year of the Horse! 🐎

The same violence enacted onto our siblings in Palestine is now visibly boomeranging back to the heart of the empire. I just got my copy of @leiculture in the mail, beautifully edited by my friend @mitchellkuga , and I’m so thankful to have gotten to draw this memorial of Aunty Twinkle. I didn’t get to meet her while she was on this plane, but my love @mariehobro shared with me such beautiful photos of her that really captured what a special spirit she was. Her open-hearted courage and power lead a community of people who have been discarded by the fake state of Hawaii to create their own home and safety. Her spirit lives on in the work. Seeing all of my friends contribute to something to this gorgeous issue this issue that made me feel so at home. Best Lei TO DATE!!!!!
