My heart was absolutely breaking for River after her loss and the struggles of the weight of her powers. But Nikhail is right there by her side and making sure she sees the stars. Throughout the book we see River struggle thinking she is a curse because she battles to control her powers, all while she pushes Nikhail away when he is the thing she wants most in the world. In the past Nikhail had thought he was not good enough for River and being his best friends sister he pushed her away but I loved seeing him finally get to the point of not caring of those things as much and his focus was on River and making sure she was okay. As River works through her grief and secrets that were kept from her, it was beautiful to see her find her strength with Nikhail by her side. Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

🍒ARC Review + Release Day🍒 Small Town Smokeshow I absolutely DEVOURED this book, can we just talk about a man that yearns? Clean up on aisle three, the way that Hunter yearns for Maggie will leave you in a puddle. Both of them want each other but are too stubborn to admit it in Small Town Smokeshow by @authorhollyrenee Holly sure knows how to write a dirty talking cowboy and boy does Hunter have a mouth on him. But he also has a softer side and wants to be there for Maggie if she would just let him in. Though him being her sisters ex complicates things, there is no denying the chemistry between them and the way they revolve around each other. I loved getting to see Blaire, Colt and Ruby again, and McCoy’s flirty antics, along with June’s no filter were fantastic. We get to meet some new faces in this story and I for one cannot wait to see what happens next in this series! Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
