Save the Date! 6/20/26 (who doesn't love a good palindrome?!)
This year's theme is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Make something from recycled materials, reuse an outfit you've already worn, or fix up an outfit! Casual attire and costumes are always welcome, but formal attire is encouraged!
As always there'll be free food, but we'll see what other shenaniganry I can get up to.
Definitely thinking prizes for creativity, but haven't decided if I want to make it a formal competition or just hand out prizes every couple hours π

The West Sound Democratic Socialists held a New Year charity drive for the local queer community in Bremerton, Washington. We are proud that hundreds of gender affirming items were donated from all across Kitsap throughout January. We had the community drop off items at @ashleyspub , @cafecorvo , and @otherwise.society . So much clothing, makeup, and jewelry were collected. We also were very lucky to have new pairs of no-tuck, shaping underwear generously donated to us by the lovely business @rubiesdad . Thank you so much.
The distribution event was at a local mutual aid organization and building called Peopleβs Exchange (PEX) . Unfortunately, we accidentally planned it on superbowl sunday while the local team was playing π and we imagine it impacted the amount of people that could attend or see our event. However, for those that did show up, we made a big difference. We hope to do another drive either for Pride Month or for the Kitsap Pride event. Thank you to all of our partners, especially PEX @peoples_exchange for your guidance and your space to distribute, All items that were not given out were given to PEX for future distribution events. It was truly a successful event on such a short notice.
Effecting Change Book Club is this Sunday! The book is The People's Project: Poems, Essays, and Art for Looking Forward, By Saeed Jones and Maggie Smith. No need to have read the book, show up to vibe with like-minded folks π
