For so many years I wanted to write a book about my life, but I didn’t know where to start because I couldn’t remember my childhood. I spent my life sick and heartbroken for reasons I couldn’t understand. My medical conditions had doctors and myself baffled. I became my own advocate and spent years in counseling, convinced my illnesses were psychosomatic.

On December 12th, 2022, I had repressed memories of child sexual abuse surface. I retreated from comedy and delved head first into healing the shattered parts of me. I also wrote this book between February and April of 2023. This book was a huge part of my healing.
.
I wrote it for me, but more importantly, I wrote it for all the women crying on floors and in doctor’s offices. There is a huge link to trauma, specifically child sexual abuse and chronic illness that is not being discussed. My story is a story of what happened to me, why and how I repressed its horror, and how I healed. It’s written with honesty, self-reflection, slight embarrasment and of course, humor.

Although my mind had forgotten what happened to me, my body did not. I can say I am now completely on the other side of trauma. If I can be healed from it, so can others. My prayer is that this book will heal, help, and comfort so many. And also, that it will make you laugh.
