Excited to be apart of my first group show in the UK @crosslaneprojects May 16th to 4th July 2026. PV: May 15th 6-8pm Felt not Thought…Works on Paper began with an introduction to the works by Anthony Corner through VeniceArtFactory. Corner had been working with them for several years. Through a collaboration with VeniceArtFactory, Shh…what’s that? was exhibited in Vestry St. in 2024. Here the works were taped to the gallery walls, by removing the frame, there is an instant fragility, the barrier between the viewer and the work becomes intimate and approachable. The title Felt not Thought is taken from an essay and dialogue with Corner’s paintings which will be released alongside the exhibition, written by Professor Michael Banissy. For curator Rebecca Scott, it acted as a starting point, a spectrum. On one end we have “felt”, spontaneity and intuitiveness, and the opposite end we have “thought”, rational thinking and/or conceptual thinking. Artists: Anthony Corner, Gerard Hemsworth, Barbara Nicholls, John Plowman, Stella Whalley, Sarah Kent + Sharon Leahy-Clark, Rebecca Scott, Ashley Beerdat, Alex Giles

A year ago, I promised myself I’d save for a trip to New York—searching for paintings, wandering through Central Park, and chasing sunsets through the noise of the city ✨

Trusting my intuition is my most sacred form of knowledge — it flows from my heart to my mind, and then out into the world💙 #muralartist #painting

A couple of months ago, I had the incredible opportunity to spend four magical days painting a commissioned piece for @cityofkitchener inside the Conrad Centre. Huge thanks to @ericowenrumble for trusting my process and vision ☀️🍃

You are warmly invited to The Weight of What Was, a group exhibition marking the culmination of a year-long mentorship with @amirhfallah through @nyccritclub . Exhibition Dates: June 26 – June 28, 2025 Opening Reception: Thursday, June 26, 6–8 PM Gallery Hours: Friday, June 27 & Saturday, June 28, 12–5 PM Featuring works by: A/BEL, Adia Jamille, Ashley Beerdat, Emily Mackin, Huma Aatifi, Jennifer Chadwick, Jessica Alazraki, Jose Urbina, Madeline Winter, and Rain Worthington The Weight of What Was is a pop-up group exhibition celebrating the conclusion of the 2024–2025 Canopy Program. Over the past year, ten artists have worked closely with mentor Amir H. Fallah—gathering regularly to share their work, exchange critique, and reflect on what it means to create art within today’s socio-political climate. Spanning a wide range of media—from painting and sculpture to installation—this exhibition is unified by a shared sense of urgency. These artists pose difficult but necessary questions: What does it mean to create in times of upheaval? How do we hold space for grief, resistance, memory, and joy—simultaneously? How do we remain present with the weight of what we’ve inherited, while still imagining ways to move forward? #groupshow #artcommunity #nycexhibition #artmentorship

There’s still time to catch Soft Futures @tomthomsonartgallery until June 22nd. The exhibition brings together the work of Ashley Beerdat, Rihab Essays, and Winnie Truong to explore the power of speculative imagination in shaping alternative futures. At a time marked by anxieties relating to climate crisis, social upheaval, and disconnection in the digital age, these artists envision spaces of transformation, resilience, and care. Through an immersive installation, painting, animation, sound, sculptures, and dioramas, the works invite us to slow down, reflect, and imagine futures where softness—both literal and conceptual—becomes a radical force for reconnecting with nature, each other, and ourselves. Each artist offers a unique vision that intertwines vulnerability, imagination, and connection. For Essayh, this is achieved by creating a sanctuary under the canopy of a tent, inviting contemplation and collective care, where softness transforms into a force for empathy and resilience. Beerdat channels the power of imagination to navigate uncertainty, using painting to explore the evolving relationship between nature, time, and renewal. Truong blurs the lines between the human and botanical, crafting hybrid beings that challenge our understanding of identity and beauty, while also inviting us to reconsider the interconnectedness of all life. Collectively, their works open new possibilities for healing and growth. #softfutures #canadianart #climatefutures #hopethroughart

That’s a wrap for @artistprojectto Untapped! Grateful for the chance to share some of my paintings reflecting on moments of ambiguity and the evolution of life. For me, painting is an act of time travel—a tool for dreaming, for exploring what came before human existence and what might endure long after.🦖🦕🦍🪾🌳🌎 #ArtFair #TorontoArt #Painting #ContemporaryArt

“Radical Softness” There’s a quiet strength in soft edges—in being vulnerable, intentional, and deeply in love with the work. Care reminds us to hold space for each other, to lean into meaningful dialogues that touch us all on a human level. I don’t know what the future holds, but in my paintings, I speculate, I imagine, I dream. And in that dreaming, the impossible starts to feel possible. Thank you Heather, Shannon, Aiden for curating this wonderful show. Still ruminating on the tender moments shared with @winnietron and @rihabessayh —left the discussion with a full heart and a sense of optimism ❤️ 📷 @jdwphoto — Hashtags: #RadicalSoftness #artisttalk #ArtGalleries #ContemporaryArt #ArtDialogue #CreativeCommunity #ArtAdvisory #EmergingArtists #ArtCuration #ArtMatters #SupportLivingArtists #GalleryTalk #ArtMarket #PaintingWithHeart
