Using a laser level outside the forest, makes every stick and burgeoning piece of fern a light show. All the points of light like a glittering map of where I'd rather put my attention than in this little black box of nothing where I'm typing this message.
This image of a giant trash fire is years old now, during the pandemic (did it ever end or did it just merge with a different one?), the trash wasn't ours but it makes sense energetically so I'm sticking to it. Life is all things. It is beautiful disgusting suffering thriving life and it demands our collaboration. As I write my intentions tonight, on the longest night of the year, I'll be empowering myself to make the energetic shifts to be there for my future self and the grand everything through the darkest nights AND the brightest days (that I remain convinced, still lie ahead). Let us make the best of it. #wintersolstice❄️
"Man's reach exceeds his grasp" -- thankfully for me this is something I've been feeling lately. I'm best at work when I feel like I'm out of my depth. I have something in me that's trying to get out and I'm inclined to help it. There will be a lot of mistakes and bad work, before something true is said. Here is my first work-in-progress in my series of light. The dragonfly.

Getting ready for Vermont Open Studios on Oct 4th weekend at PRISM (also known as my home). This house/ life-consuming renovation and art project has been my main occupation for the past 5 years. We still have a long way to go with everything that we want to do but we're happy to be symbolically startinga new phase by opening the doors to the public and meeting other artists and art-lovers!
This painting will be on the walls as well as a few other new pieces I've been working on. Come springtime open studios we'll have something in the sculpture garden as well! 🏡 🎨
Thanks to @vermontcraftscouncil for all of their help getting oriented in the process. Check out their website for more information on all of the artists that you can see in the area.

I always wondered who it was...that friend that everyone seemed to have, documenting all the moments that you would want to remember later. All the homes you would live in, the parties, the gigs and pivotal moments, the friends you would laugh with on walks, and then not see again for years, and sometimes, never again. There is no rehearsal for life. It is now and every moment after, happening in real time. Take a few mementos with you and never be afraid to tell someone what they mean to you.
