Even the best engineering solutions can falter when people, culture, and communication break down.
At Structures Congress 2026, Andrea Galli, Group CEO of ARX Group, and Richard Stump, Vice President at RS&H, will lead a fireside chat exploring The Human Equation — how human nature, cultural norms, and individual behaviors influence communication, collaboration, and project outcomes across diverse teams and delivery environments.
Andrea brings a global perspective shaped by more than two decades of work across Europe, Africa, and Asia, guiding multidisciplinary teams and organizations through growth, integration, and change. As co‑owner and CEO of ARX, he leads a network of more than 2,000 professionals in over 30 countries. His background spans engineering, real estate, and general contracting, along with industry leadership roles including president of Suisse.ing and EY Entrepreneur of the Year Switzerland 2024.
Richard adds complementary insight from 30 years of professional practice and military service, having led infrastructure and facility projects in 39 countries across six continents. His experience includes work in Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Guam, and Hawaii, along with post‑Hurricane Mitch reconstruction efforts in El Salvador and Guatemala. Richard has contributed over 22 years of volunteer service to SAME and FIDIC, supporting ethics, governance, and future‑leader development across the global engineering community.
Together, Andrea and Richard will offer practical strategies to foster constructive dialogue, strengthen cross‑cultural understanding, and use human diversity as an asset in project delivery.
This session will help participants consider the human dimensions of practice — and how people, culture, and engineering work together to support effective, resilient project environments.
The fireside chat will take place Friday, May 1 at Structures Congress 2026 in Boston.
