Thank you to everyone who attended the Legacy Circle event and joined us for the powerful panel Domestic Violence: Breaking the Silence. This session created a meaningful space for honest conversation, survivor voices, expert insights, and practical solutions focused on domestic violence within the Haitian diaspora. We addressed stigma, shared critical knowledge, and highlighted real pathways for healing, safety, and change. We are deeply grateful to our distinguished panel: 🎙️Dr. Tania Guerrier, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC (@drt_thepsychnp ) 🎙️Supa Cindy (@supacindy ) 🎙️Attorney Alexandra Stephanie Audate, Esq., LL.M. (@asa_esq ) 🎙️Officer Kevin Brun 🎙️Wilda Turenne Thank you for your courage, expertise, and powerful contributions. Special appreciation to our moderator, Dr. LaToya Lewis, for guiding the discussion with professionalism and compassion. Resource folders with mental health support information, legal guides, safety planning tools, and community referrals were made available during the panel. These resources are now accessible through the Global Innovative Foundation at @Gifoundation.org . We remain committed to breaking the silence and supporting our community. When I tell y’all these white LGBTQ+ orgs hate y’all. Y’all gonna learn to believe me . The City of Atlanta is in an all out war against Black people and LGBTQ+ people over this cop city project BUT WHAT DO WHITE LGBTQ orgs do? Give Andre Dickens a 116 out of 100 for supporting cis white gays while they are literally tear gassing and shooting queer and trans POCs. NOTED!

SCOTUS DECISIONS: two opinions (1) Lora v US “The question before the court is whether a bar on concurrent sentences in 18 U.S.C. 924(c) extends to a sentence imposed under a different subsection, Section 924(j). The Court holds that it does not.” (2) US ex rel. Polansky v. Executive Health Resources (False Claims Act) “The question in this case is whether and when the government has the power to dismiss a whistleblower lawsuit filed under the False Claims Act when it initially declined to take over the case. The court holds that the government can seek dismissal of the case, even if the whistleblower objects, as long as it intervened sometime in the litigation.”
