So why are we screening Moss & Freud?
Lucian Freud’s artwork often featured gay men & queer people and his work has become important within LGBTQ+ history and culture. When asked why he featured queer people in his work, Freud responded by saying that he was drawn to queers for their courage. Freud was reported to have a number of homosexual affairs, although this was more hush-hush and he publicly preferred to be called heterosexual. Also…Kate Moss is a DIVA!

This screening will begin with a pre-recorded extended introduction from the UCLA Film and Television Archive’s Motion Picture Curator Todd Wiener.
The work of artist and photographer James Bidgood, Pink Narcissus is a breathtaking and outrageous erotic visual poem focusing on the daydreams of a beautiful male sex-worker who, from the seclusion of his ultra-kitsch apartment, conceives a series of interlinked narcissistic fantasies populated by matadors, dancing boys, slaves and leather-clad bikers. With its highly charged hallucinogenic quality and its atmosphere of lush decadence, Pink Narcissus is a landmark of gay and experimental cinema.
Pink Narcissus has been restored by the UCLA Film & Television Archive from original 35mm materials.

SYNOPSIS: Two Iranian women overcome fear to join a protest, finding global connection through a photo that sparks hope for their future.
The Climb is a collection of LGBTQ+ short films that deal with themes of resilience and facing tough challenges. All ticket sales will be donated to Meningitis Research Foundation.
This screening will be hosted by Rebecca Row. Rebecca will be undertaking a Mt. Everest Trek Challenge to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation. This screening will contribute to her fundraiser.
