So We Broke into the Garden of god… Is a series of photos depicts two women eating fruit held up by one another’s mouths. The action played with both aggression and care speaks to the ways in which scarcity can create cooperation and conflict. The performers are handcuffed together, over a shopping cart full of trash. The works takes place in a church. The setting mixes the sacred with the common. What should be providing sustenance is limiting. The shopping cart an object of abundance is turned into an object of absence. These photos were shot as a reflection on my own fears of the cost of every meal eating away at the life I’m building for myself.

[...]» . . . . #ibridi #aru #sofiacavazzoni #danepollok #performance #arte #arteperformativa #performanceart #conceptualart #fotografia #scrittura #traduzione #appesorivista

IT’S OK TO PLAY WITH FIRE. This is my first ongoing photo series. I lead the subject through a candlelit meditation as a part of a photoshoot. The subject chooses the emotion beforehand, and I personalize a meditation on that emotion. The firelight constantly shifts what kind of photo can be taken as we explore the subjects memories, and relationships to their emotion have changed over time. For the first two sessions; Grief with @collinfarias and perseverance with @emb0wdn

Happy to shoot for @noexitper4mance for their upcoming show The Gathering, a haunted Halloween show at the Atheneum. Have so much respect for these artists in No Exit. At every step of my artistic journey I’ve thought about the time I had with No Exit in Highschool, and it’s helped guide me into the artist I am today. Getting hired to shoot for them felt really rewarding. If you are in Indy please check them out:)

In this class, we will focus on building an outline for a workshop based on the heart of your art practice. You will learn to teach others the things that only you have discovered about art. We will reflect on your practice to figure out what drives you most as an artist, and use that as the material for the creation of an abstract and outline of a class. We will trace your influences, and use those as source texts for your class. We will explore the methods of teaching available in a workshop, and how best to approach the subject matter you choose. We will test out teaching one another. This class requires bravery. I am asking you to teach away the part of your art that you consider your voice — with the belief that in doing so, you will expand past your limits, ignite passion in others, and be recognized within your artistic community for your point of view. Please only take this class if you are open to letting go of the idea that your approach to art is unlearnable, and that your worth as an artist is limited to what you have found in the past. 6-8pm @pas_berlin sliding scale: 20-40 euro
