Save the Date!! Artyli Gallery invites you to the opening of "Re-Wilding", on the 21st of March at 2pm.
"Re-Wilding" is an exhibition exploring what happens when artists loosen the structures that shape perception and allow instinct, material and imagination to lead.
Drawing inspiration from ecological restoration, "Re-Wilding" refers to the removal of dominance, allowing systems to regenerate according to their own intelligence. Within the gallery, this idea unfolds through diverse artistic voices whose works reflect renewal, freedom and transformation.
Artists featured: Cassian Robbertze, Sylvester Mqeku, Carey Carter, Keonah Nyembe, Paula Ante, John Moore, Phumzile Buthelezi.
The exhibition has been curated by Karen Cullinan and will be opened by Dr Ashraf Jamal, whose writing has shaped important conversations around contemporary art globally.
Please remember to RSVP! We look forward to hosting you at Artyli Gallery, and sharing a body of work, we are truly excited by.

We are proud to present new works by Toni-Ann Ballenden at the Latitudes Art Fair, taking place from 22–24 May 2026 at Shepstone Gardens. You can find Artyli Gallery in the Manor House.
Toni-Ann’s works have always authentically been a diary of her life, intimate reflections shaped through memory, endurance, destruction, and renewal. Alongside these new works, we are also showcasing earlier deconstructed and reconstructed abstract works, allowing viewers to experience the layered evolution of her practice over time.
Her earlier works emerge through a process of cutting, fragmenting, and rebuilding, where destruction itself becomes a form of creation. The new works, however, speak more directly to recent lived experiences , carrying within them a an extraordinary testimony to endurance, vulnerability, and hope.
Each piece speaks to patience, resilience, and the enduring strength of the human spirit. Her works remind us that healing is rarely linear, but through the act of making, something fractured can become whole once more.
Art becomes both witness and refuge, a beacon of light in the toughest of times.
We warmly invite you to encounter these remarkable works within the extraordinary setting of Shepstone Gardens during Latitudes Art Fair 2026.

We are excited to show new works from the Light Keeper series by artist Talia Goldsmith at the Latitudes Art Fair, taking place from 22–24 May 2026 at Shepstone Gardens. You can find Artyli Gallery in the Manor House.
Talia Goldsmith’s Light Keepers are sculptural guardians, sentient beings born “between storm and stillness”, vessels of light that console, protect, and guide.
These elongated, coarse-grained white forms shimmer with glass mosaics that transform and transfer light. They stand like modern lighthouses: watchful, empathetic, and attuned to the unseen currents that move through our lives.
In a world marked by turbulence, Goldsmith’s Light Keepers remind us of the power of illumination, the kind that heals, connects, and gently returns us to ourselves.
We warmly invite you to experience these remarkable sculptures at Latitudes Art Fair within the extraordinary setting of Shepstone Gardens, a place of historic architecture, lush gardens, abundant food and beverage experiences, and some of the most exciting contemporary art on the continent.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Manor House.

My sculptures explore the relationship between memory, material, and metaphor, shaping steel over rock to blur the boundary between reality and illusion. Suspended between strength and fragility, each form becomes a quiet meditation on faith, transformation, and inner landscapes. Through time, rust, and exposure to the elements, the work evolves, echoing both natural processes and spiritual grounding.

Robert Slingsby’s artworks echo the spirit of Modern Art, Cubism, and Surrealism, blending the bold geometrics of Joan Miró, Picasso’s subtle abstraction, and the vibrant playfulness of Salvador Dalí.
Rooted in countercultural thinking and revolutionary politics, Slingsby’s practice is deeply ethnographic. Through critical research, immersive fieldwork, and direct human interaction, he visually documents African cultures, ancient and contemporary, transforming lived experience into powerful visual narratives.

Come and experience the extraordinary sculptures of Cassian Robbertze, currently on view as part of our Rewilding exhibition at the gallery.
Each work is expertly shaped with great precision and care, reflecting a profound understanding of both his material and the conceptual depth that underpins his practice. His sculptures invite us into a world where technology, identity, and reality begin to merge in unsettling and thought-provoking ways.
Drawing on the blurred boundaries between the digital and the real, Cassian explores how, in the online world, everything is reduced to signs and symbols. Consumer identity becomes shaped by social media, pop culture, and imagined realities. We begin to compare ourselves to movie characters, reality television, and constructed personas, until the line between fantasy and lived experience becomes almost impossible to distinguish.
This is the realm of the simulacrum, where reality and illusion dissolve into one another.
Visit the gallery to spend time with these powerful and deeply relevant works in person.
