From canvas to couture - looking back at a night where fashion blurred the line between gallery and runway.
Every detail, every silhouette, every brushstroke-inspired look felt like stepping into a living masterpiece 🎨✨
Met Gala 2026 reminded us that fashion isn’t just what we wear… it’s art, storytelling, and expression woven into every stitch.

🤍For Emma Chamberlain’s Met Gala appearance, the vision behind her Mugler dress was brought to life by artist Anna Deller-Yee - whose practice blurs the line between painting and the body. @annadelleryee
Working between Berlin and Paris, Deller-Yee approached the piece as both garment and canvas, asking how painting could truly live on the human form. The dress was entirely hand-painted using traditional artist materials, with around 30 custom-mixed colors layered over nearly 40 hours. She built the surface through a process of testing on delicate georgette silk - experimenting with pigments, water, and gesture - allowing the fabric to shift between dense, sculptural impasto and fluid, ink-like washes 🎨🖌️
🤍💖Inspired in part by Manfred Thierry Mugler’s legacy of transformation and hybrid forms, the final piece captures a tension between control and release: brushstrokes are preserved in some areas while dissolving in others, as if the paint is still in motion. The result is a living artwork - where the dress doesn’t just depict painting, but becomes it, moving and evolving with the body.

Starry nights, stitched in silk ✨🌌
This year’s Met red carpet felt like stepping into a living canvas-swirls of gold, deep blues, and textures that echo the restless beauty of Van Gogh. Fashion as brushstrokes, each look telling its own story of chaos, passion, and genius.
Art never stays in a frame… sometimes it walks the carpet. 🎨💫
