Students at First Ward Creative Arts Academy got to take a screen printing class with Arts+ instructor, Eric Ndelo. This program was brought to 8th grade students at First Ward Creative Arts Academy, but Arts+ also invites rising 8th-12th graders to take free arts classes in Summer at Studio 345.

Join us for IDK Polaroid Prints on May 23rd! We'll begin the workshop with a short photo walk through Plaza Midwood, where you'll take Polaroid images. Then in the studio, we'll use a water bath and tools to lift and transfer the emulsion onto watercolor paper, creating one-of-a-kind modified prints!

IDK Case Bookbinding is on May 16! In this 3-hour workshop, participants will learn how to case bind a text block, also known as hardcover binding. This technique can be used across different bookbinding styles and gives handbound books a professional finish.

Join us for the Project Harmony Final Concert on May 11th!
This performance will bring students together to share the music they’ve been working on throughout the year!
Project Harmony is a community-based orchestra program for students in grades 2–5, created in partnership with the Charlotte Symphony. Students are provided instruments at no cost, meet twice a week, and get to build their musical skills.

Neuro Music Lab is designed for neurodivergent students in grades K–5 to explore music through singing, movement, rhythm games, and instruments. The focus is on creativity, listening, and collaboration in a supportive and welcoming environment.

The next Kids Night Out is this Saturday, May 9th!
Children ages 4–11 get a chance to spend time making art, playing music, and being creative together, while you get a night off. They'll enjoy doing hands-on activities and end the night with pizza and a G/PG movie!

IDK Lumen Prints is coming up on May 9! Lumen printing is a photo process using black and white darkroom paper to make an exposure with ultraviolet light without the need for a camera. In this workshop, students will experiment with different papers, materials like plants and glass, and exposure times to create layered, one-of-a-kind prints.
