This Mother’s Day, azalea was filled with love, laughter, and families coming together to celebrate the women who mean the most to them. From moms and grandmothers to tias and mother figures, it was beautiful to see our community show up and celebrate one another.
A special thank you to our tenants and all of our amazing partners for helping make this event possible and creating such a memorable experience for our community.

Gracias por acompañarnos y celebrar con nosotros en La Alameda. Estos momentos de alegría, conexión y comunidad son los que hacen todo valer la pena.

So much of what we inherit from our mothers is intertwined with fear, expectations, and sacrifice, often masking the love that has always been there.
This piece reflects my journey of seeing my mother not only as “mother,” but as a woman who carried generations before me while teaching me how to survive the world.
Now, I am learning what it means to live freely.
To create from love instead of fear.
To soften without losing my strength.

We kicked off our first amiguis @librosconalma book club meeting last night with a cd mixtape swap! 💞 “Un día contaré esta historia” has moments that touch on how music can be a refuge and a place to find comfort when we need it the most ❤️🩹 (the author, Amanda Lalena Escalante (Amandititita) @amanditita , is also a really cool singer and songwriter!) 🎶 We gathered our stickers and sharpies and put together our own favorite songs that help us heal and exchanged them with our book club friends 🫶🏼✨💓

THANK YOU vendors for offering your time and a portion of your sales to support the reunification of a Maywood mother and her children. Maria has not seen her children since March 17th when she was abducted outside Downey Courthouse. She missed her little girl’s birthday, bed times, countless hugs, kisses, and now, she will be apart from them on Mother’s Day.
