TODAY! Story Quilt: Ramsgate in its Own Words With @ramsgateradio and James Harrup Friday 1 May, 4:30–7pm (We will be open as normal 11-4 for our High Street Social Club Friday drop in) Arts in Ramsgate, 46 High Street FOOD WILL BE SERVED Vegan dahl + Indian rice pudding by Chef Gita from 4:30pm No need to book, just drop in. We’ve been collecting your stories. Join us to come and hear them! Over the past few weeks we’ve been out in the town - and at the Friday drop-in - with a big red microphone. Asking people to talk. About their favourite places. What makes them proud. What makes them feel safe. What song they’d choose as Ramsgate’s theme. Those voices have been woven together with the sounds of the town itself into a radio show. On 1 May, come and listen to the show with us. “Beauty and peace, prosperity and pride. Safe harbour, open arms. All together, Ramsgate is rising.” The space will be safe, warm and welcoming and food will be served. No performance, no schedule, nothing you need to do. Just a room full of Ramsgate sounds and voices - your neighbours, your town - playing back to you. And you might recognise some people in the portraits - Jake, James, Pedro, Jemma, Paul, Sylvie, Gemma, Bev, Theresa and more. This is a low pressure event - stay five minutes or stay the whole evening. Come on your own, bring someone who needs a quiet moment, or just wander in. This is exactly what we mean by safe harbour, open arms. Listen on the radio! The show will be broadcast the following day and will be available on demand on the Ramsgate Radio website, link to follow. - Making experimental portraits and recording interviews for STORY QUILT, our Pride in Place project weaving Ramsgaters (Ramsgations, Ramsgatonians?) stories to bring the process of change to life - produced in collab with Filipe, Pedro @ramsgateradio and James Harrup Our audio work will be installed in our space on Friday May 1st (Mayday) and on demand on the Ramsgate Radio website afterwards. Watch this space for more details - you are all invited! We’ll be conducting more interviews and making more portraits next week, Friday 17th April, 12-3pm. @artsinramsgate now has WiFi!!! 🛜✨🗣️ 😍 It’s free ✅ It’s open to anyone visiting the space 😌 There’s no long confusing password - in fact there’s no password at all! Making it easy peasy to connect to 👾 It comes out of this sci-fi-looking purple briefcase box We’re so chuffed to have partnered with our pals at @jangalawifi to become a COMMUNITY WIFI HUB! @jangalawifi have kindly supported this project by providing us with one of their Big Boxes 🛜 these wifi boxes are super sturdy, easy to use and can connect to up to 100 devices! 🙌 If you have questions about WiFi (What is it? How can I connect to it? How much should it cost? Where can I get a cheap deal?) bring them along to our drop-in session tomorrow morning 10am-12pm!!!

We are running an ONLINE SAFETY class at @artsinramsgate !!!! Friendly, fun and open to everyone 😊 📅 EVERY THURSDAY MORNING IN FEBRUARY AND MARCH ⌚ 10AM - 12 NOON THINGS TO KNOW: ⭐ It's FREE! ⭐ There's no need to sign up or even to come every week - just show up on the day! ⭐ There will be tea, coffee and pastries 🥐 warmed up in our shiny new airfryer! ⭐The heating will be on 🔥 ⭐ @artsinramsgate is at 46 High Street - next door to the Post Office. It's step-free and accessible for people who use wheels. There is also a roomy accessible toilet and a baby changing table. 📱 There will also be chance to get help with any tech issues that have been plaguing you - so if your phone is saying it's run out of storage and you don't know why, bring it along and we'll sort you out! Ramsgate’s model village returns! For generations, Ramsgate’s model village on the West Cliff was a place of wonder. This March, that much-loved miniature world returns - re-imagined for today at @artsinramsgate 46 High Street. Come and share your stories, memories and photos of Ramsgate’s model town, and see our model village re-imagined - celebrating Ramsgate’s past, present and future in miniature. There’s plenty to get involved in too, including “Paint Yourself into the Village!” workshops, where you can create your own mini-me and become part of the model village. A welcoming, nostalgic and creative experience for families, adults and anyone who remembers Castlewolde, as well as those discovering it for the first time. Gorgeous photos from @petebateson Big thanks to @elise.anna.carter and @eleanor.yankah @chefgitasahni Good Vibrations was designed for our community and we are following it up with 'It's a Love Thing' which takes place THIS SAT 14th FEB. We are spreading love and warmth into February as we await Spring. This will be our second @creativelivescl event as part of the 'Know Your Neighbourhood' programme Ramsgate Space (Albert Court, back of Staples) in Ramsgate. 12noon to 6pm This time your activity will accompany @jasbir3 amazing Neon artwork 'Unconditional' @zigsdigs and @moa.music will also be there. We can't wait! Are you coming?

A gentle reminder that our 'Good Vibrations' workshops take place THIS Saturday. We are nestling in under the @ramsgate.winter.festival umbrella. @elise.anna.carter and @eleanor.yankah will guide you through a series of 30/40 min relaxed, interactive workshops exploring movement and sound through recorded music and multiple instruments such as a gong, drums and Himalayan singing bowls. Its best if you aim to arrive for 10am or 11am 12noon is time for a bowl of nourishing soup from @chefgitasahni Then we start again at 1pm or 2pm and maybe 3pm if there still demand.
