What does unrestricted artist funding make possible?
For Samantha Bounkeua, @rogueviolin receiving an Emerging Artist Fellowship from the @calartscouncil Individual Artists Fellowship created a critical bridge during her transition from day job to full-time artist.
The support helped her invest in essential studio equipment, build confidence in her creative path, and continue developing a sustainable arts practice.
Stories like Samantha’s remind us why direct investment in artists matters. When artists are trusted with resources, they gain the space to take risks, deepen their practice, and contribute meaningful work to their communities.
Bold Support. Unlimited Creativity.

🎨✨ Exciting times ahead at our bakery! We are thrilled to honor my late mother, Lupita, with a stunning mural by my talented friend @jorgerauhltorres Jorge Torres. This vibrant piece not only pays tribute to her but also represents the rich culture of Oaxaca, Mexico and our beautiful city of Seaside.
A heartfelt thank you to the City of Seaside @cityofseaside and the Monterey Arts Council @arts4mc for their invaluable support in making this project possible. It truly took all of us to get this approved, and we can’t wait to share this vibrant expression of our culture with you all!

🐦 Students at Santa Rita Elementary School recently transformed a campus wall into a vibrant mural, showcasing creativity, school pride, and community spirit! 🎨
Working alongside our Teaching Artist Megan Goodwin, fifth-grade students helped bring the mural to life with the school’s hummingbird mascot, California poppies, agricultural landscapes, and soccer imagery that reflects the heart of their community. 🌼⚽🌾
These projects allow students to collaborate, express themselves, and make a lasting impact. We are proud to partner with Santa Rita through Arts4MC’s Murals Program, creating inspiring spaces for young people. 💛
