More of us are getting more intentional about what we put in our bodies and we are so here for it! Talk about the sober curious/zebra stripping/NoLo movements, alcohol-free social clubs, it’s beautiful. The vaping though…😬 We need to agree that we aren’t swapping one thing for another. #adoseofhealth #alcoholfree #fitness #healthcaretrends #healthtrends2026

Most of us were raised to be “the glue.” The silent force. The one who does the work so well that it “speaks for itself”. But the reality is: If you don’t give your work a voice, someone else will narrate your legacy for you. You’re paying the Invisible Tax every time you position yourself to “stay small”. It’s the price of being the office “fixer” while someone else gets the “face time”. You see, Invisibility isn’t a “safe” way to work, it’s an expensive way to live. You are essentially subsidising everyone else’s success with your silent labour. For the next couple of weeks, I’m going to be sharing 8 of these “taxes” that are quietly draining your career and your confidence. I’m curious, which of these have you felt most in your career? 1. Your ideas being “echoed” by someone louder? 2. Being “too indispensable” to move up? 3. Feeling like a “ghostwriter” for someone else’s success? 🎥: @artlight_studios #TheInvisibleTax #PersonalBranding #ThoughtLeadershipWithWanjira

Yo!!!! Dr Muchiri's excellent retired pathologist buddy has a lot to say about what's been happening in your body this whole time. 👀 Were you aware that the brain changes during puberty, pregnancy & menopause? Episode 5 is giving us mom brain, perimenopause plot twists, mood swings that nobody warned us about. Drop a 🙋🏾‍♀️ if you've ever been called difficult or moody and you just... accepted it. You may even have warmed into it as a personality 🫣 New episode is out now. Link in bio! #WomensHealth #Menopause #Perimenopause #FillingTheGap #obgyn

Your skin. Your heart. Your bones. Your brain. Your joints. They all have estrogen receptors. Every single one. So when estrogen drops during menopause, the effects are not just hot flashes. It is a whole-body conversation that most women are never told they need to have with their doctor. This is me, doing what I do breaking it down so it makes sense. Women and men deserve to understand this beautiful body. 🌸 Full episode out now. Link in Bio #menopause #fillingthegap #fertility #womenshealth

Now let’s talk birth plan: This is a written document or verbal discussion in clinic (if working directly with your specific provider) that outlines your preferences and wishes for labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care. It communicates to your healthcare team what kind of birth experience you’re hoping for. It typically covers things like: • Pain management — whether you want an epidural, prefer natural/unmedicated birth, or want to try other methods first (water, breathing, massage) • Labor environment — lighting, music, who’s allowed in the room • Interventions — preferences around IV lines, continuous monitoring, episiotomy, assisted delivery • Pushing and delivery positions — upright, on all fours, water birth, etc. • Immediate newborn care — delayed cord clamping, skin-to-skin contact, who cuts the cord • Feeding intentions — breastfeeding vs. formula • C-section preferences — if an emergency arises, what matters most to you It’s important to keep it realistic and flexible — birth rarely goes exactly to plan, and the goal is to inform your team of your values and priorities, not to create a rigid script. Most providers recommend keeping it to one page so it’s easy to read quickly during a busy labor. As part of your birth plan, your provider will also discuss the following aspects with you: * Preferred mode of delivery we’re aiming for * Hospital of choice for the delivery * How to identify when you’re in labour and when to start going to hospital. * What to pack in your hospital bag * How you’re getting to hospital * Danger signs that may occur and necessitate an immediate change to the original birth plan #BirthPreparedness #NairobiBirth #BirthPlan #PregnancyKenya #MaternalHealth
