Operating Tracings, a piece created by @lennondaire at one of the several locations he’d AV installations live for Culture Night 2025.
This one involved MediaPipe, TouchDesigner, Max, Ableton and Resolume.
People could stand in front of the piece and manipulate intricate sounds & visuals that Daire had built up from archive footage and live sampling of ambient sounds from Drogheda.

There’s some major potential to these new kit upgrades. Really going down the rabbit hole of learning about how old school formats and signals work lately.
I’ve been gifted a Black Magic Television Studio switcher, and it’s of a perfect timeframe of “analog being on the way out, but HDMI/SDI and digital coming in,” so… a lot of old stuff can work with it.
Then being able to route things and switch many sources, having multiview output and several ways to do program feeds, all nicely timed etc… it’s pretty sweet!
Then there’s messing with a Tektronix 1741 and discovering loads about how signals work with the vectorscope functions, aside from just sending audio waveforms into it with some probes and clips on an audio jack as I’m at playing here.
Some of this is just trying to sabotage the feed to see where the boundaries are by hitting it with rapid colour & texture changes, mid chroma/luma glitches.
Good craic anyway!

Another fun job completed for @notionscreative there!
This time the guys have crafted together a cute bar/immersive installation for the brand, Birra Moretti!
My role was around getting the video & audio performing well on the (very wide) 5120x1440 pixel screen! Came up with a solution making use of a MinusForum PC, a router & Raspberry Pi to achieve the punch we needed to make the response snappy!
Looks gas though, great to see it in situ with the lights & branding!
